Located in Keller's new tech flex district, the Penguin Patch's architectural design was created with the City to become the new benchmark for future developments to come.
The project includes a 30,000 SF warehouse with a 20,000 SF office on 2 floors with potential for growth in Phase II. The building also includes a branded entry lobby, kitchen, outdoor patio, training facility, open office, conference rooms and focus rooms.
There are five main design principals for the project:
-
Connection to Community
-
Extend the Architectural Brand
-
Elevate Chisolm Trail
-
Create gathering and walking areas
-
Dynamic Architectural Materials
The architectural palette is inspired by the colors of the emperor penguin. Black heads and backs, white belly and yellow trim around the neck.
MB Studio proposed an iconic two-story building, consisting of a modern dynamic aesthetic consisting of clean lines, simple box forms and horizontal planes that break down the overall scale of the development. We hope to create a healthy and comfortable working environment in terms of scale, function layout, user experience and design empowerment, providing sufficient space for the team's growth, evolving the characteristics of the site and building blocks.
The interior design explores the possibility of freedom in composite layout. A repetitive, array-like form is created thanks to large window, multiple void areas bring in nature light and intractivity between the two floors. Taking a curatorial approach, the products of Penguin Patch brand are on display at the entry.
